We had so much fun at our On The Dunes Summer Party. This year our team from Goldstein Dental Group, Jaffe Dental Group, and Oakwood Dental Group came together for a fun and relaxing group outing. It is so enjoyable to relax, celebrate, and spend time with our co-workers. We have such an incredible team! We played Fowling, which is similar to bowling but with a football at On the Dunes Bar and Grill. What a blast! We also were able to feast on some great food. The get together was a little treat to thank our staff for the exceptional work they do each and every day at the office. It does not go unnoticed.

Mouth Guards

Custom-fitted mouth protectors use impressions of your actual teeth to fit your specific individual requirements to best protect your teeth and provide you the most comfort while wearing.
Mouth guards should be worn by anyone who plays contact sports or an individual sport that has a risk of injury to the mouth. If you grind your teeth, you will need a type of mouth guard called a nocturnal bite plate or bite splint. Mouth guards have been proven to decrease injuries to the mouth, teeth, and nerves. If you or your child is in need of a mouth guard, contact Jaffe Dental Group to make an appointment.
Seeing Your Dentist During a Pandemic

Even though we are currently living in an extremely uncertain time, what can be certain is that you still should visit your dentist. After stopping non-urgent visits due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ADA (American Dental Association) along with the CDC officially recommend that dental teams open and serve patients, as long as all guidelines are followed.
We know you can’t wear a mask during your exam, but it is important that you wear it upon arrival to our office, monitor your own symptoms, let us know ahead of time if you may have been exposed to COVID-19 so we can reschedule your visit, and follow all social distancing and mask wearing measures outside of your visit. This limits your exposure to COVID-19, keeping you and our dental team safe.
In turn, our team has added extra safety precautions to make sure you and our team is safe. We are utilizing HEPA Filters with Ionizers, in order to reduce any sort of impurities during your visit. Moreover, we have gone above and beyond the recommended protocols to further reduce the risk of infection for you and our staff.
Keeping up with your dental health is important for your overall health, so we want you to feel comfortable visiting our office. Read about some of our many safety measures and contact us to make an appointment with Jaffe Dental Group. We look forward to your visit.
Maintain Oral Health for Overall Health

While it may get overlooked, oral health is just as important and intertwines with your physical and mental health. Your mouth is the first step in the digestive system. Without a healthy mouth, you will most likely see negative impacts on your overall health.
The health of one’s teeth and mouth are vital for your wellbeing. Good oral health allows for one to smile, speak, show emotion, smell, taste, and more. Without a good oral hygiene routine, one may feel insecure about smiling and refuse to show any emotion that involves expression of the mouth. This is damaging to one’s self-esteem and self-image, making oral health incredibly important for one’s own mental health.
If oral health is neglected, there may be other medical repercussions. Poor oral health can result in periodontal diseases, tooth decay, dry mouth, and other painful consequences. Poor oral health can also impact other parts of your body. Long term issues with oral health and care can lead to heart disease and other chronic illnesses. This is due to the build-up of bacteria that can get into the bloodstream and travel to your heart or other parts of the body, increasing the chance of infection.
It is extremely vital to maintain good oral health, as it is directly tied to your overall health. With good oral health comes good general health, so it is imperative that you mind your own oral hygiene and habits and see us regularly. Contact Jaffe Dental Group in Brownstown, Michigan to schedule an appointment.
Don’t Put off Your Dental Hygiene Appointment

Your dental health is just as important as general physical health and your mental health. Your teeth, mouth, and gums are essential organs in your body, and without them, you will have an extremely hard time digesting and obtaining nutrients. In fact, the first step in the digestive process begins with your mouth, as you chew and break down your food. So, it is extremely important to not let your dental hygiene lapse (and yes, that includes flossing and brushing twice a day.)
A proper dental hygiene routine consists of brushing when you wake up, before you go to bed, and flossing at night. Remember to brush for at least two minutes each time, making tiny circles or even better, use an electric toothbrush. We can recommend one that will work best for you. Make sure you don’t forget to brush your tongue as well, to remove bacteria.
Oral care is essential so you do no suffer from plaque build-up and bacteria, leaving you with bad breath, yellow teeth, and a nasty, sticky biofilm that remains on your teeth. These can all lead to tooth decay, periodontal diseases, or even worse, tooth loss.
Even if your routine is impeccable, you still need to visit the dentist at least twice a year for cleanings and a general check-up. Visiting us, will ensure that problems that are not visible to the naked eye are taken care of before they become larger and costlier problems. Plus, you get to see our friendly masked faces at the office as well as getting that clean mouth feel!
Jaffe Dental Group is here to see that your mouth, teeth, and gums remain healthy. Schedule an appointment at our Brownstown office today.
